Calinan has long served as the captain of king Maximillian's royal guard, and as his most trusted friend. Tremendously skilled with a blade, Callinan is well equipped for his job, which takes a change when he is sent to the Freelands as Aleana's bodyguard. It is only through his great skill and bravery that the two reach their destination alive.
Calinan is strong, brave, loyal and honourable in a somewhat old fashioned manner. He is quite willing to die for his princess, or in the name of honour.
