Named by her grandparents, Tallow's name translates as 'moon-flower' in the old-tongue of the Eastern Kingdoms. Unfortunately, she has often regretted their choice, and generally introduces herself as Tee.
Born to one of the numerous Kings of the East, she had a sheltered, safe childhood where she was long expected to blossom into a rich lady of leisure who would await the arrival of a handsome prince to take care of all her worldly needs. Much to her family's annoyance, Tallow was not content with a life of idle luxury and, upon discovering the magic inside her, seized upon the opportunity it presented with both hands.
Now apprenticed to Fellirion Forester, Tallow is kind, thoughtful, and astonishingly intelligent, perhaps the reason her mentor broke with tradition and chose a student with a different magical speciality to himself. Although her skills with plants and earth are far from those of Fellirion, Tallow nonetheless seems to find him an effective teacher, and one who takes the time to help her find her way out of the trappings and mannerisms of the over-rich and bring her into reality.
Despite her talent with the Art, and Fellirion's best encouragements, a childhood of being restricted to 'safe' places because she would be vulnerable in the world beyond has left its mark, and Tallow is prone to anxiety and a lack of self confidence. It may be due to this that she tends to favour somewhat masculine clothing, not wanting to give the impression to that here is a slim young woman who walks three miles home along a lonely road.
